The Metropolitan Choral Festival commissioned Christopher Tin to orchestrate his eleven movement oratorio To Shiver the Sky for Chamber Orchestra, which premiered in Denver before a live audience on August 23, 2025. Conducted by Ricki Vorrath-Moyer, the online program can be accessed here.

Christopher Tin is a highly acclaimed two-time Grammy-winning American composer of concert and media music.  His album To Shiver the Sky debuted at #1 on the Classical Billboard chart, and was funded by a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign. On commission to the Metropolitan Choral Festival, he has reorchestrated To Shiver the Sky for chamber orchestra and this work was premiered at the 13th Annual MCF Summer Festival in Denver.

What People Are Saying

FANTASTIC

[The concert] was fantastic.  The soloists were great. It was all together a wonderful evening. Stay with [MCF] as long as you are able...they're super. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful group to belong to...BRAVO."

LORETTA McDONNELL

MOVING

We had TWO standing ovations, and some of my friends said they wept during the Requiem because it was so moving. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this experience.

JANINE HILL

TRANSPORTED

We were totally wowed by the MCF concert this past Saturday evening.  I am so glad we experienced it in person rather than live-streaming as we did last year.  I felt transported to heaven. It brought tears to my eyes.

MAUREEN LIEGL

AMAZING

It was a truly amazing evening of beautiful music. So thankful to have been part of this group this summer! Ricki makes it fun in spite of the challenging works presented.

 IRIS REYES

EXTRAORDINARY

Surrounded by love and music in an evening that was extraordinarily musical and loving. Thank you Ricki Vorrath-Moyer, you are a goddess of the conductor's podium.
